The New 2015 Honda Civic Type R

We’ve recently seen details for the new 2015 Honda Civic Type R released and it’s safe to say that we can’t wait to test drive one! With the last model of the car phased out back in 2010, many are hotly anticipating it’s comeback – one which has been on the horizon for some time having appeared at 2013 Geneva and 2014 Paris Motor Shows.

The Most Extreme Car Honda Has Ever Built

With Honda themselves proclaiming that the new 2015 Civic Type-R is the most extreme car they’ve ever built, it’s easy to understand why there’s so much excitement surrounding it’s release and why so many are eager to get behind the wheel and take it out for a test drive. With a 306bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, it exceeds all other Honda models in terms of raw power, torque and engine response.


Another feature which is exciting those anticipating the car’s launch is the ‘+R’ steering wheel mounted button which looks set to make the engine more responsive and sharpen the steering when pushed. Of course, this joins four-stage adjustable suspension dampers (allowing the driver to switch between comfortable and very hard suspension).

Price & Release Date

The 2015 Honda Civic Type-R looks set to be introduced at a price point of £29,995 and the GT version approximately £2,300 more.


At this stage, it is expected that the new model will arrive in showrooms in July this year – just two month’s away as of writing!
