Honda (UK) have chosen the Triathlon Show: London 2016 (Which takes place between 11th-14th February at London’s ExCel) as the place to introduce their new innovative cycle storage special, the ‘Active life Concept’ to the public for the very first time.
This exciting new storage installation has been designed for the current Civic Tourer, which is, of course, the Estate model of the Honda Civic.
What Is It?
The excellent storage solution makes the very most of the Tourer’s class-leading cargo space. The Active Life Concept provides an integrated loading rack allowing for the storage of two bicycles.
With the boot open, there is also a retractable arm which your bicycle can clip into to allowing for easy access to make any repairs your bike might need.
But the maintenance capabilities don’t stop there, with a retractable bench, built in air pump, large light and extendable shade over the tailgate.
That’s not all however because the Active Life Concept comes with a number of clever storage solutions integrated into the boots sidelining, providing space for a toolbox as well as a water tank, water bottle holder and front wheel holder.
There is also an aerodynamic roof box which of course can store any of your other cycling essentials such as helmets or waterproofs.
The accessorised interior is complimented by the sporty exterior of the Civic Tourer. The custom blue paint finish is combined with a silver roof, new 18-inch alloy wheels and a custom rear bumper to accentuate the model’s sporty image.
The custom blue look continues inside as well. Through the seat linings, steering wheel, gear stick and door linings there is a touch of blue. This is all topped off with a sleek black roof lining which also features in the current Civic Sport and Civic Type R Models.
Now finally keen sportsmen and women have a car with storage which doesn’t just look like a mini bus.
What Honda’s Managing Director Says
On the exciting Concept, Phil Crossman, Managing Director for Honda (UK) has said that “This amazing Concept takes the Civic Tourer’s already incredible practicality and versatility to another level, with several clever solutions to make the very most of its tardis-like interior space.”
He continued, saying that “while just a design study with no plans for mass production at this stage, it does go to show how our cars are ideal for customers with an active lifestyle, and we’re looking forward to hearing what visitors to the show think of it.”
The Triathlon Show: London 2016
This concept isn’t the only Honda model on show at the Triathlon Show, with the entire new lineup of Honda releases (HR-V, Civic Tourer, Civic five-door and Civic Type R) also featuring at the exhibition.
Those visitors who head on over to the Honda exhibition also have the opportunity to experience the CR-V, HR-V and Civic Tourer first hand as there will be a test drive track available at the exhibition facility.
The London show is the UK’s largest Triathlon show and allows sports fans to take a close-up look at some of the latest advances in the industry. As well as seeing all of the latest sporting technology, attendee’s will have the chance to speak to leading experts from running, swimming and cycling, as well as attend lectures by some of the experts.
